TOP TEN GARDEN JOBS FOR THIS MONTH
Sow lettuce seeds
Clear sweet peas and their supports to make room for the hardy biennials
Start planting Spring Flowering Bulbs such as tulips and daffodils for early shoots of colour through the start of next year
Prune summer fruiting raspberries. The new growth may have already started for next year’s crop but it is important to prune back the old ones
Support tall and climbing plants well as the windier, cooler weather comes to avoid damaging your perennials and shrubs which will return next year
Lift any remains of Summer bedding plants and replace with Winter Flowers. Pansies and primroses are full of colour
Plant heucheras and heather in pots and borders for deep autumn colours
Bring in any houseplants which have been outdoors in the warm weather
Deadhead and feed your Summer hanging baskets to keep them flourishing right until the first frosts
