TOP TEN GARDEN JOBS FOR THIS MONTH
Hoe and hand weed borders often so that they don't have time to set seed
Feed, water and deadhead summer bedding to encourage longer flowering
Feed and deadhead roses to maintain strong flowers throughout the summer
Water young fruit trees and lock in moisture with organic matter
Open greenhouse doors and windows to prevent plants drying out
Feed houseplants weekly until autumn
Top up bird baths and water features for birds, bees and other wildlife
Water early in the morning and late in the evening to allow the water to reach the roots with minimal water lost to evaporation
Mow the lawn regularly to encourage lush green growth
