TOP TEN GARDEN JOBS FOR THIS MONTH

 

Start planning your vegetable gardens. Seeds can be planted indoors or in the greenhouse.

 

The winter months are the most ideal time to plant a new tree.

 

Start to prune your Winter flowering shrubs to encourage flowering until the Spring.

 

Use netting to protect fruit and vegetable crops from the hungry birds! 

 

Sow sweet pea seeds indoors for early Spring colour.

 

Start to think about your Summer Flowering Bulbs such as agapanthus, dahlia and gladioli. Plant according to the back of the packet. 

 

Prepare to feed your perennials and shrubs towards the end of the month. We use MiracleGro Continuous Release plant food.

 

Sow Summer bedding seeds in greenhouses. Marigolds, antirrhinums and geraniums can be planted now.

 

Keep feeding the birds. Hang feeders near roses and Winter flowering shrubs so that they can eat the pests.
